New to BG

LO is not born yet, but I wanted to get a jump start.  I bought the 7th Gen detergent.  Can I do my prewashes in that, or do I NEED the BG detergent?

You can use any CD safe detergent.  I'm not sure about 7th Gen.....there's a link in the FAQs that will tell you for sure.

You can use any cloth diaper safe detergent.  It does not have to be BG detergent.  I might find something other than seventh generation though.  They do not get a wonderful rating.  Here is a place you can see how your detergents rate.

Thanks.  7th and woolite are the only detergents my skin can tolerate so I am afraid to go beyond them.  I have even had reactions to dreft.  Poor LO may inheret Mama's senstitive skin.

You may want to try a detergent like Rockin' Green Barenaked Babies or Dropps Baby Detergent.  Both are available online only but are CD safe and supposed to be great for sensitive skin.

Thanks for that link.  The type of 7th G that I had came up as 4 gold stars, which was higher than most with all green lights.

This!  I have ridiculously sensitive skin and so does DS (reaction to Dreft also), but Rockin' Green is awesome.  No reactions!
