How can I disinfect a stuffed animal that has a battery in it? (The Leapfrog Puppy, which James sleeps with every night). He has what is either eczema or ringworm on his face (eeew, I know, it sounds gross, but it's not really a worm. It's a fungus that the dr said he could have gotten either at daycare or from our cat). Anyway, we're supposed to wash the bedding, which I'm doing, but I figure I should also somehow disinfect "Puppy." I read in some parenting magazine last month (can't remember which one) that you should spray stuffed toys with Lysol to disinfect them, but that kind of gives me pause. Even though I'm not a real organic type of person, the idea of spraying those chemicals on a stuffed toy seems like it might not be a good idea. Thoughts?
Thanks!
Re: Spray Lysol on stuffed toys?
i clean our stuffed toys with a hand held steam cleaner.. i dont know if you have an option for that but it works nicely.. also, my brother says if you put stuffed toys or a blankie in the freezer it kills the germs-i dont know how true that is but it worth looking into..
i agree about sparying chemicals onto the toys-not cool
