TTC after 35

bleh

Just spent $$ to keep DH's sperm on ice for another year...  Waiting to find a donor for DE sucks!  I'm really thinking of looking at another clinic to see if we can get this process started.  I'm not getting any younger (turned 43 in April).

Good Luck and bump dust to all!

Re: bleh

  • I hope you hear good news soon! Good luck to you. :-)
  • Shyn,

Have you called Judy? I am not sure how it works or how they find donors. We should have split a cycle with this donor. Maybe it had to do with the specs etc. How did you rate your requests etc? I know this sounds silly but I rated the appearance the highest. Have they given you donors that you are not interested in?

  • Baze,

Last time I called her she didn't call me back.  2 weeks went by & then she emailed me that they had lost my paperwork.  I emailed it to her the next day (saved a copy). I figure we started all over again since they haven't given us any donors to choose from yet.  I'm getting tired of waiting....

That being said, I'm soooooo excited for you that things are moving along!

  • Ugh That sucks! I am so sorry. How funny would it be if you used my donor next month or the month after and we had geneticlly half brother/sister..that makes me giggle. I know it wouldn't happen but that would be so funny.

Sometimes I think that office is a little disorganized, but yet they get it all done. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I would call again! She found donors for us right after I called to find out the status.

Hugs to you..wanna wash my car tonight?

Shy - have you thought about RBA's frozen egg bank in Atlanta?  They do lots of out of town clients and it seems pretty easy - I only went in for one monitoring appt and the transfer for the whole cycle (and I'm local).  Once we decided to go with DE it took 6 weeks to get our paperwork in order, get necessary tests, counseling and choose a donor.  We started in late Nov and my transfer was in Jan.

Waiting sucks - I'm sorry you haven't had more progress.
