Hello, We were looking to rent in the Seminary Hill neighborhood in Alexandria va. I am not from the area and was wondering if this would be a good place for small children...6 months and 2 years. How are the schools?? Any help would be appreciated Thank you!
Re: A good place for families to live?
I had to look up where that area is (not familiar with all the area names within towns), and I realized that's where my cousin's family lives. They still live there (2 of the kids are college age+ and the other 2 are still in school) and the high school is really good, and I"m pretty sure the other schools are too. If you want me to ask them any specific questions, let me know.
I actually live 1 neighborhood over, in Taylor Run. We LOVE it. It is a great place to live. The elem school for our neighborhood and most of Seminary Run is MacArthur. It is an excellent school. The middle school is iffy (though it is getting better) and the HS is good.
Do you have any specific questions? I am happy to help.

Are you looking in the apartments or renting a house? The apartments don't have a lot of open space but the neighborhood does have some parks.I think the elementary school for that area is good but the upper schools are not as highly rates. Have you checked greatschoolsDOTcom?
I think Alexandria has some really family friendly neighborhoods (well, we live in Alex. and really like it)!
