Cloth Diapering

gDiapers

This is probably a silly question, but I've never actually seen these in person. My girlfriend keeps on talking about gDiapers. What are they? It sounds like they are just sposies that are biodegradable. Is that right, or are they washable? Thanks! P.S. I did google them, and the description didn't clear it up for me, which is why I thought to ask here.

Re: gDiapers

  • My mom just bought me a pack because she saw them & knows I am checking out different brands of cloth diapers.

gDiapers are hybrid. Thye come with flushable biodegradable inserts in the starter pack w/ the covers, however you can buy hemp cloth inserts (separately) and use those instead.

The only downside I see is you have to buy several sizes while your child is in diapers ( I personally think I will be a OS cloth diaper person). But if that doesn't bother you I'd say check them out.

Babiesrus carries the gDiapers, the cloth & disposable inserts, and carries the wet bag & pail liner online.

    I really hope this helps.

  • Before I launch into my spiel, there are some people they work for.

However, the covers are not waterproof, they are prone to leaks, if you're going to use the disposable inserts they're expensive and do NOT biodegrade if you throw them away.  If you flush them you have to follow their directions exactly or the inserts will foul up your plumbing and the wastewater treatment plant, etc.

Bottom line - there are many better alternatives to g-diapers.

  • We are going to try grovias, though obviously have no experience with them. In my research the one downside I found with the g diapers in addition to pp comments) and they have exposed snaps that can leave red marks and dont seem like they would be comfortable for LO.

What's up with their website video with the timelapse between the 3 diapes? Is it false?
