Dr office just called with GTT results :(

I failed my 1 hour at my 16 week appointment and so I took the 3 hour glucose test on Friday. Well... I failed it too! BOO. I had to be put on blood pressure meds at my 16 week appointment, and now this!

I feel like I am just fighting the world. With the infertility journey to get here, our previous loss, a diagnosis of hypermesis at 16 weeks and being put on a blood pressure medication and today this news... I feel like I just wasn't meant to have children. I know, it could be MUCH worse, and I am beyond greatful that it isn't. I just want to be able to enjoy my pregnancy at least a LITTLE bit instead of living in a constant fear that something else will go wrong. The health of our little boy is most important right now so I will do whatever is necessary to make sure he stays happy and healthy in there until November.

Any other GD momma's on this board? I know the High Risk board has lots of chatter about GD so I will be checking that board out more frequently now.

I just wanted to say I'm sorry you're upset and I am sure everything will turn out fine. I am sure you can find a lot of support on thebump from women who have gone through it. HUGS!

i don't have personal experiences but have a few friends who failed their 3 hr GTT.  they went on the GD diet and did just fine.  i'm so sorry you are having a rough pregnancy but remember your prize at the end! GL!

I'm sorry you're going through this. I haven't taken my test yet, but I am certainly worried about it. Keep your faith in this LO and just take care of yourself!

Oh honey, I'm sorry.  Big ((((Hugs)))).  The good news is that it is treatable and that your baby will most likely be completely fine.  My MIL had GD and placenta previa with her second child (after having three losses, one of which was a 2nd Tri loss) and all turned out well with that pregnancy.  It's a hard diagnosis to take, but it is for a limited amount of time.

I'm sorry you are having a rough time.  Just remember that there are many, many women out there who have had those same problems and more and have come home with healthy babies.  I hope you are able to find lots of support here from other GD moms.  GL!!

I'm sorry you have so much on your plate and are discouraged.  My friend was on bp meds and was a GD mom, and her little girl will be 2 next week.  They were both fine!  Hang in there!

I had GD when I was pregnant with my son, I go tommorrow for an early Glucose test. I am worried it will come back positive, but I also know its managable.  I know its alot to take all at once, but mine was very easily managed with very careful eating, and exercise.  Good luck.

This.  People have had much success when they followed the GD diet.  (((hugs))) I know it's another bump in the road, but there are many pregnant women on the bump with GD and they will be great for support!  I am glad that you have already found a few GD buddies to talk to.  Thoughts and prayers for you and your sweet little baby boy.
