Cameron James?

Ok, is it silly that I don't like James as a MN for Cameron?  Does it sound goofy because of James Cameron, the director?  I've had a few people mention that to me.

What about Cameron Jay?  Cameron Jacob? Our last name has two syllables (and isn't that easy to say) so I really wanted a one sylllable middle name, but I'm thinking of options that my might sway my husband.

And on another note, what do you think of the name Micah?

Re: Cameron James?

  • Love Cameron as a first name!

Cameron James sounds good and works, but seems like there is something better....

     not a fan of Micah.

  • I think Cameron James sounds great. I think James sounds great with just about any first name though. I'm not a big fan of Micah.

  • I did think of the director when I saw the title, but I don't think its a big deal. You won't be calling him by both names all the time. But what do I know, I named my son Jackson Daniel even after people said it is too close to Jack Daniels. I say use what you like.

  • Love the name Cameron! It's my DH's name! His full name is Cameron Scott. Cameron James also sounds good though too. I never thought about the director, and I definitely agree that a 1 syllable MN will sound best! Good luck! :)

  • I love Cameron! I think James flows OK, and I didn't think of the director. I also like it because Cameron is modern whereas James is classic, a great combo.

  • I did think of the director when i saw the title, and I do think it's a little strange. Not strange enough to nix the name if you really love it, but if you're looking for some other options, how about Cameron Jude or Cameron John?

I like Micah. People are naming their girls Micah, which I think is really annoying because it is a wonderful name for a boy.

  • I did think of James Cameron the director when I saw this, but I don't think it's a bad thing, he is a cinematic genius.  And how often are you going to introduce him by his first and middle name.  It's my favorite of your 3 options.

  • Cameron James is a great name, Cameron Jacob would be a close second imo.  I like these initials CJ is a fun nn.

Micah is nms, it is a fine boys name but it seems like it is a name that is going to the girls.

  • I did think of James Cameron when I saw the title.  Are you trying to use the letter J for the middle initial?  What about Cameron Dean?
  • I also thought of James Cameron.

  • I know that Cameron is traditionally a boys name but I ALWAYS think girl when I hear this, I know 4 girls names Cameron ranging from 14-34 years old. Confident, beautiful women. I also think it sounds feminine IMO.

    I like Micah alot.

  • My friends son is Cameron Dane and I like the way it sounds together.

I think what I dont like about James is that it is so traditional and Cameron is more contemporary like someone else said. It sounds fine but doesn't seem to fit well if that makes sense. Thats why I think I like Dane. It fits better with style of Cameron.
