How "real" are the projected polls?

Yahoo shows Obama leading by a landslide.  But how real are those projected polls?  Do you think they are accurate?  I know some of you are really policitally educated, so I thought I'd ask!

    Who are they polling? I think it's so dumb. Al Gore and John Kerry both had huge leads in the polls and look where it ended for them. I think the only poll should be the one in Nov.

    I am no statistician, but honestly I don't think you can call an election this early  - who knows what will happen.

    Also, they had a good article in the NYtimes the other day about how no one knows how race is affecting the polls (Bradley affect, I think?)

    I do think it is accurate that the current financial situation, Palin, and McCain's negative ads are pushing people towards Obama.
