My cousin offered to knit me a pair of soakers after seeing my attempt at trying to knit. LOL! I was so excited! She's an amazing knitter. Anyways, I have been dying to get them and when they came in the mail today I opened them and loved them!!! Unfortunately the are huge (would definitely fit my 10 yo!). She wrote in a note that she used 100% cotton instead of wool so there will be no itchies for the baby. She said she couldn't wait to see pictures of her in them.
So my question is can I lanolize them like wool will they be leak proof too. And also how the heck do I take pics of her in them when they are so big! These were a gift and she worked so hard adjusting the pattern to fit her measurements. She was so happy to make them for her and I'm not sure how to say they are humungous!
Re: Soaker help...
bc it's cotton and not wool, it won't be waterproof. the cotton will just wick the moisture right through it.
i'd just take a photo (tucking and pinning if necessary to hide the biggness) and then attempt knitting your own out of wool again. practice on cotton/acrylic until you get better if necessary.
