PICSI is when they line the dish with an acid which is found on the outer layer of the egg. This acid attracts the sperm, so the embryologists are looking for the sperm who are then attracted the acid on the dish. The sperm that go to the acid are then chosen to be used ICSI. Those sperm that are not attracted may not be mature sperm or could be poorly developed sperm. This could be why we had an early m/c last July. It basically is a step up from using just ICSI and is an awsome break through if you have MF IF.
