Pregnant after a Loss

oops, forgot to add my question in post below (cervix question)

Even though my Dr. said my cervical length measured great, I was curious if mine was the average. A couple weeks ago, he measured it at 3.5 and did another measurement and it was 5. Today he couldn't really get a good measurement on it but guessed it was 3.5. Then after finally getting a good one, he measured it at 3.6. He was fine with this and said it's a great number.

Anyway, was just wondering what the norm was, and if it was truly a 5, is that a big drop?

I was never told anything other than it looked good, but remember weening a post that someone was at 4 and that was great news, so I thin5 is probably quite long and 3.6 is closer to the average, but I really have no idea. Happy to hear your dr was satisfied though!

  • I think the ideal is 4 so that is pretty close.

  • It sounds like your CL is great. Many of us with cervix issues would kill for that length.

Thanks. I've never made it this far so the whole cervix thing is a foreign subject to me. I hope yours gives you no more trouble!

  • Anything over 2.5 is acceptable according to my peri. If it were shorter than that they would look in to intervention.

This.  Typically if you go below 2.5 you're put on some sort of bed rest or other intervention.
