DS is not night trained. He wears a pull up or underjam to bed each night. He leaks almost every night lately. It's so frustrating. Any suggestions of what I can do besides limit liquids and dream pee?
Are the underjams the goodnight diapers for older kids? DD1 wears a pull up to bed but luckily she doesn't leak through them. What about adding a diaper insert. I've even heard that you can stick a maxi pad to the diaper for added absorbency.

I can't be sure, but I think that I remember from when I was pt-ing DD that they actually sell overnight pull ups. She use to pee through the regular ones like crazy. Another suggestion would have been the Diaper Doublers, but I don't think they make them anymore. Adding a maxi pad inside the pull up could also help as an extra layer of absorbency. Other than that, like pp's have stated, limiting drinks up to 2 hours before bedtime might help.

We had to use overnight diapers for DS until he was pottytrained overnight. We tried pull ups and the overnight pull ups but neither of them held enough. It was so annoying. We just had to take them on/off of him if he did wake up to go to the bathroom. It was a pain but the only thing that kept him from leaking out.
DS1 turned 5 in December, and we have the same issue. We've tried both Underjams and Goodnights, and we haven't noticed a difference. Sometimes he leaks, sometimes he doesn't. I just take him to pee before I go to bed, and even then he still occasionally leaks. Sometimes his pullup is already wet when I take him, then he pees more in the potty, and pees more in the new pullup after he goes back to sleep. I asked his pediatrician about it a couple of weeks ago, and she's still not concerned. Grr... he's been daytime trained for 3 years now.
The underjams worked a little better then the pullups. I finally just stopped using them since they didn't work anyway and get him up to go potty before I go to bed and when I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I used to wash sheets several times a week now just when it's time to wash sheets!
Hi! We use overnights but we used to use the diaper doublers (pads) they sold at babies r us however they company went out of biz sooo I go to the dollar store now and buy a basic size maxi pad (not giant) and line the inside so two pads one front to middle one middle to back. voila!
And maybe ask R9 - I remember L leaking thru a lot.
Heavens yes!!
I had to put two pulls up on him, and then put snug fitting underwear OVER that (my theory was that they were leaking through the sides, not the actual pull up). That seemed to work.
I also had to limit fluids.
I also dream peed him even though he wasn't night potty train.
Not going to lie, at some points we were using 3 pulls up a night on him.
(That being said, I use the generic ones so they weren't so expensive.)
DS1 is 4 and he still wears a underjam/goodnight to bed. The pull-ups are not absorbent enough, we have to get the night time ones and limit liquids after 6, and he goes pee before bed, AND be sure the penis is pointing down into the diaper. Otherwise he's peeing out of them.
Re: Help! I am so sick of washing sheets!
Ds wears goodnights at bed time. We limit drinking 2 hrs before bed and even then pull ups wouldn't cut it. We haven't tried underjams...

I know this means more laundry - but what about getting some re-usable bed pads?

the 24x34 ones are about $9 each, but would be easy to pull it off in the morning (or during the night, and toss another down.

We limited drinks after dinner as well.
