SIGG vs Kleen Kanteen

I would like to buy a few new water bottles for myself and some family members but am having a hard time deciding between these two.  Is there a difference?  None?  Also, for those that have a sport water bottle, which on do you have and do you like it?  I think my IL's would be thrilled with something like that.

Re: SIGG vs Kleen Kanteen

  • I love my Kleen Kanteen. I chose it over the Sigg because it doesn't have a liner and it seems more durable.

  • I have a Sigg, but now wish I had a Kleen Kanteen. The Sigg is made from Aluminum, and the company will not disclose what lines the bottle to keep the aluminum from leeching into the water. So, you could be drinking from who-knows-what. If it scratches, then your water is being carried directly against the aluminum. The KK is made from Stainless Steel. I'll be getting KK bottles soon to replace my Sigg.

  • I have a SIGG and it leaks a lot from the top. In fairness, I think it may be missing some sort of part or something (I found some washer-type thing that seems to fit it, but I can't for the life of me figure out where it's supposed to go), but my next bottle will be a Klean Kanteen.
  • I have a kleen kanteen and I love it. I got the 18 oz. because that is what the store had and my dad was buying :). I wish now that I would have gotten the 27 oz. size because I run out of water at work with the 18 oz size. So im thinking there will be a kleen kanteen in DH and my stockings this year :)

Also my DH totally made fun of me for getting a stainless steal water bottle and being against plastic but he totally steals my KK all the time.?
  • I habe a blog entry exactly on this (link in signature). HTH!

  • I have both, and I like both.  My Sigg is a lot cuter, but it is harder to clean.  I am not too worried about the liner (but maybe I'm too trusting).

I really like the Kleen Kanteen - its great to throw in the dishwasher on occasion and that ice fits in it.  I haven't had a problem with it tasting metallic (what I worried about when I bought it). I do really like the Kleen Kanteen.
