Anyone try the Shettles method when trying to conceive? Results? I was just talking to my aunt and she swears by it. Personally, I like the idea of the baby's sex being a complete surprise, but I suppose if i were determined to have one of each and be done, I might consider it...

Re: Out of curiousity...
With the Shettles method, you're got about a 50% chance of getting your preferred gender. Of course, you get the same odds just by having sex any time during your fertile period.
Everyone who "swears by it" was in the 50% who got their perferred gender by chance.
It's not exactly 50/50 boy/girl but it's very close. There are around 1050 boys for every 1000 girls born each year in the U.S.
I'm not aware of any scientific studies which have proved any effectiveness of the Shettles method. The only scientifically accurate method to influence gender pre-conception is to use the MicroSort method to separate sperm (in conjunction with IUI or IVF); this is used for couples trying to avoid passing on sex-linked genetic diseases.
