You Know What's Not Cool?

My house and me in it.  It's 92 today and my f*cking central air does not want to work.  The H is leaving work in 30 minutes to come home and see what's wrong with it but honestly I'm more mechanically inclined than he is and I've already checked everything  that he's going to check.  There's frost on the line running from the outside unit into the house so we either have a Freon leak or possibly a bad thermostat.  Either way I have to let the frost melt before anything else can be done and it's getting hot in here.  And I'm still working so I can't leave the house and go somewhere with AC.

I'm in the same boat as you, except I know I have a freon leak. I had my a/c serviced last year and they told me I would have to buy a new unit soon. We are getting a new a/c unit and furnace installed tomorrow or Thursday- good for me but bad for my wallet......

Ugh you poor thing!!!  Get thee to a Starbucks or library ASAP!!  Our A/C broke last summer and even not pregnant I was absolutely miserable.  This heat that has slammed the east coast for the past week has been unbearable!

UGH...I'm so sorry!  The bad news is that with it being so freaking hot, the techs will probably be tied up!  You definitely need to get somewhere cool ASAP!

On a side note, I went to the Nats/Phils game yesterday and watched Halladay pitch his way to another win....well I watched an hour, took a 1/2 hour break, watched more, etc.  The heat index was 105...I was almost to the vomiting point!

I know the feeling the AC in our "Confrence room" gave out and it's now 85-90 in here with no windows...

We have told the Maintence man for over a week.. someone was nice enough to leave a small fan on my desk..

Oh no, that really sucks.  Do you have any small AC units to use?  I hope you can find someone to fix this issue quickly. GL

That happened to us a couple years ago and we had to replace the whole unit. Ugh. Stay cool! Can you go to a mall or library?

Oh my gosh.  I am so sorry.  I can't even imagine sitting in my house without the air on.  I warned DH that, if for any reason, our A/C went out, he best be prepared to get me a hotel room until it was fixed.

I can't imagine being 9 months pg with no air conditioner.  My heart goes out with you.  I agree with previous posters, go to Starbucks and finish work there!

I'm sorry! That is horrible and I might be checking into a hotel until it is fixed. We had that happen to ours too and had to get a new unit, which obviously sucks.

I wish I could go to a Starbucks but I have an actual desk phone that wires into my router...it literally keeps me tethered to the desk all day.

My office... some idiot decided to turn off the AC for the weekend.  Our school is HOT as anything and 1200 students in it does not help.  I felt so gross today.  Tonight will be a low key, AC evening...

That's awful! I hope it gets fixed soon. I kinda know how you feel. We don't have central air in my house. DH is putting in our window a/c unit tonight so I am a bit toasty at the moment!
