Celebration: Today we are celebrating 4 bottle feeding trials a day with 10ml per bottle!  This week we are also celebrating our move to our new less critical care room (although I still think the room sucks even tho I know it's a good move  - see previous post).

Any concerns to share or accomplishments to celebrate: Kayla had her first eye exam this morning, and they found no evidence of ROP! The docs also upped her feedings to 5mL/two hours today! Yay!

Any concerns to share or accomplishments to celebrate: we cannot WAIT to get her off the apnea monitor - hopefully at our NICU follow-up on 6/14...

I'm so appreciative of the board for its wisdom and the fact that I can connect with other people who have been in our situation - even though we had a relatively healthy, big preemie, 33 days in the NICU was exhausting/stressful/etc, and it's nice to have people who've been there.

My name is Jen

LO is Zane, born at 35.5 weeks after going into preterm labor at 33wks - no explanation for the preterm labor.  Dilated to 5cm before they stopped labor and sent me home on bedrest.  He was 7lb 2oz and 20 in long.  Was in the special care nursery for 7 days because he was born with a fever/infection and respiratory distress.  Infection most likely due to being dilated 5cm for 20 days.

Now he is almost 8 months, 25lbs and almost 30in long!

I have an 11yo SS and I'm a WAHM.

My name is Ashley pregnant with our  first baby. Her name is Skyler and drs are expecting we will meet her in 10 weeks (32 weeks gestation) She has spina bifida and due to severe complications from that they will be delivering me early to prevent serious brain damage. I have been lurking and am very thankful to this board I have learned so much from all of you. I'll be keeping you all posted

Only concern lately was a bloody stool yesterday - hasnt had one since but I'm very worried.

Getting rid of home O2 completely, come down off the 30 cal Neosure that we got bumped up to today. Stay out of the hospital for the after our testing next week for Ella.

Good idea!  We've gotten several newbies lately.

Reid 24 weeks, 1lb 8 oz.

8 months actual 4 months adjusted weighed in at 11 lbs 1 oz a couple weeks ago.

Currently pregnant with dd.  I am 21 weeks along today.

In 2 months Reid has gone from eating zero from a bottle during his feedings to eating 5-15 cc's (mostly 5) all most every feeding (maybe minus 1 a day) AND eats like a horse with solid foods.

Preemie's name is Aidan.  He was born close to 31 weeks, 4 lb 9 oz.

Baby just turned 1 years old on May 26th.  His current weight is 24 lbs. 

He has come a long way.  He can stand and lean against things, but he still cannot walk on his own.  And we are still working on finger foods so that he can move to the toddler class at daycare.  But he is more likely to move to the toddler class by his adjusted age rather than his actual age.

Your first name: Can't post because of stupid choice of screen name years ago.

Preemie's name, GA born at, birth weight: Can't post name (a little girl), 28 weeks exactly, 1 lb 11 oz.

Preemie's current age, weight:  3.5+ years old, don't know her current weight ... believe it or not there will come a time when they are doing so well you no longer know their weight to the ounce or even pound anymore.  LOL  I'm guessing that she is somewhere around 30 - 35 lbs but I could be off.

Other children?  She is our one and only.

Any concerns to share or accomplishments to celebrate:  Just this week she is into spelling words she sees.  From the backseat yesterday parked outside Walgreens... "Daddy, I'm going to spell store.  P-H-A-R-M-A-C-Y  - store!"  LOL  Daddy had to explain that store was S-T-O-R-E and that a pharmacy was a kind of store.  But hey ... she is excited about pre-reading skills ... awesome!  She has no lingering preemie effects that we know of.

Any concerns/accomplishments:  We continue to struggle with DD's eating. She puts food in her mouth and chews a little then spits it out and therefore is gaining very slowly. We had her evaluated at 15months for feeding therapy and she did not qualify which was extremely frustrating. I just put in another call for a follow up eval. If not, I might have to go privately.

Other than the eating she is learning so many new things every day and is starting to speak more!

 We are on a feeding schedule at home -- and it is working! (DH and I are both working so a schedule is our saving grace -- even if the schedule has us up 3 times in the middle of the night.)

Any concerns to share or accomplishments to celebrate: Today they took out his nasal cannula, they increased his feeding to however much he wants and he is now in a hospital crib. Still under the bili lights. They also signed me up for a discharge class at 4pm tomorrow. As long as he's strong and healthy enough, that's okay.

I really appreciate this board and hearing ya'lls experiences.

Any concerns to share or accomplishments to celebrate Andrew hit a growth spurt last week, and this week he is so much more alert and is giving out smiles here and there:) Can't wait for more milestones!!

Other children?  Liam age 2.5 and Nessa, Finn's twin and guardian angel who died when she was 3 days old.

Any concerns to share or accomplishments to celebrate  Finn is doing pretty well.  He had a grade 4 IVH on the right and has some left sided weakness/inc tone but is making progress.  He gets weekly PT and OT and can sit now by himself.  Only other issue right now is he just had his 3rd ear infection so we are going to do tubes but that isn't really a preemie thing.
