I'm kidding...but my mom does have one. I usually only pack water when we go out because LO is funny about his milk at times. As others have said, insulated bag buy milk while you're out (which can be expensive).

Small soft sided cooler with some ice packs. If we're out all day there is typically snacks for DD and myself in there, too, and maybe meals depending on what we're doing. We regularly drive 3-6 hours to visit family, and on those trips we'll just order milk wherever we stop for lunch/dinner, or grab a single serve container from a convenience store.

This! I carry a sippy with us in her bag. Then wherever we are I just order milk. I ask for the fattiest they have. Sometimes it is whole milk, sometimes it is 1 or 2%. Every once in a while won't hurt.
If I am going to be out all day I do not bring milk. A day here and there without milk is fine. Other than that just buy an insulated soft sided lunch bag and pack the milk with an ice pack.
Re: how do you carry whole milk for a day trip?
Bar tab = $156,000, Bus to Foxwoods = $0, Puking in the Stanley Cup = Priceless
I don't!
DD only gets milk at wake up, nap time and bedtime. I could always buy milk while we are out and about. 2% once in a great moon won't kill her.
PACKIT!!!!

We buy the single servings of milk that don't need to be refridgerated. We only use them on day trips since they are a bit pricey. We use these:
