Well I normally don't have any bleeding afterward. I had an appointment yesterday at 10 am and I am still having bloody mucus about every 3rd time I go to the restroom. I was worrying. I looked it up and the general thought is that you don't have to worry until you have enough to fill a pad.

I had my first internal last night around 6. I spotted last night and today, although it seems like it's dwindling. There's still a little something there when I wipe. 

You just definitely don't want anything like period strength bleeding, according to my NP.  As the cervix ripens, the capillaries are more susceptible to breaking, which is why you can spot from internals, sex, exercise, etc. At least I think that's what I was told, it was something like that

I haven't had an internal yet this pregnancy but with my last one I bled for the day of the exam.

I only spotted after the 37 week internal.  I went in on a Monday and it lasted until Thursday morning.  It was more mucus based and bloody at the beginning then it turned brown and tapered off as the days went on.

I had my first internal yesterday afternoon and there is still a little bit of dark blood on my panty liner almost 24 hours later. I'm glad the OB warned me because I would have been freaking out about it. I didn't soak through a panty liner but it seemed like a lot.
