Cloth Diapering

ok 1 more fitted question

so with the fitted diapers I know you need a cover.  I see alot of you use wool.  Do you have to use wool?? or something else?  i cant justify spending 30-40on wool right now.  TIA

Re: ok 1 more fitted question

  • You don't have to use wool.  You can use a PUL cover, like Thirsties or Flip for example.  PUL covers are very inexpensive, most are under $15.
  • Yes, you need a cover, no it doesn't need to be wool. Wool is just another option a lot of ladies like. I personally don't have any wool and we'll be using regular ol' Thirsties Duo Size 1 and Size 2. HTH!

  • You don't have to use wool

And not all wool is expensive

  • Just as an FYI you can get some great wool soakers on Etsy for like 15 bucks.  myecobaby has some great ones on etsy that are upcycled wool (sweaters and things that have been repurposed into covers) that are really cute and has great reviews.

  • I don't have any wool because I don't want to care for it (you have to wash it specially and use lanolin now and then).

I just use bummies super whisper wraps and thirsties duos at the moment. I also just have cheap GMD infant fitteds. Surprise They're not remotely cute, but they work well.

  • Oh ok great. Good to know! I will look at etsy. Yeah the only ones I have seen were around 40 dollars or so for 1 cover.

  • if you have basic sewing skills you can make your own wool covers out of a wool sweater from goodwill for less than 4 bucks!  and should get 1 pair of longies, and 2-3+ soakers depending on the size.
