its a loooong wait list but who knows maybe we will get lucky! there are 57 families waiting. we are interested in multi-ethnic embryos since our ds is aa.. we want to keep diversity in the family!

We called local REs offices and they told us about a main storage place for embryos in our area. then they put us on a list

That is awesome we looked into it at our last duty station through our RE however there weren't any AA candidates. We may look into it again now that we are in another area and now more open to any ethnic group.

I really wish more people would elect to donate embryos over having them destroyed or used for research. The only way I was ok with trying IVF was knowing that if we had unused embryos they would go to another couple who also desperately wanted to parent. Sadly I didn't produce enough eggs to get myself pregnant much less have the ability to help someone else. GL!!

As someone who adopted six embryos, I too wish more people would donate their remaining embryo's.  Wishing you all the luck in the world!

This is a REALLY dumb question but my DH and I have three frozen 5 day embryos (I'm preggo with the other two).  Anyways if all goes well we have talked about adopted them out and really have NO info on doing that.  Seeing as how we have an adopted DD we are totally comfortable doing it, just wasn't sure what the adopted parents have to go thru to get them and what we do as embryo first parents to get them on the list to be adopted?!?!?!  Do we choose the parents or does the clinic?  I really have NO idea how it works.  I really hope you guys get picked soon!  Thinking of you sweetie!
