5 month old randomly stops sleeping through the night...

Well, the boys have been sleeping from about 10pm-7ish am for a couple of months now. No real fussing through the night at all. A few days ago one of my boys started having ROUGH nights. Waking up every hour or so needing to be soothed back to sleep and a couple of nights we have just ended up feeding him in the middle of the night, and he has eaten well those times, which makes it seem that he was hungry, maybe? We're still swaddling. I tried not swaddling him last night and that didn't help. Any ideas?

  • Could they be teething? My one son did this just recently. He had been sleeping through the night for about 4 to 6 weeks and than all of a sudden he was getting up several times a night. He would take him about an hour or two to calm down and go back to sleep. It only lasted about a week and a half. He had two bottom teeth break through during this time.

Ahh, maybe you're right. We've been thinking they were teething for a while now because they are drooling like crazy and chewing on everything in sight, but no teeth have started to show. Perhaps they will soon. Thanks for the suggestion.

I see that your kiddos are only about a week younger than mine, so maybe it is a 5 month and one week thing :)
