Transfer

Well... Talked to the dr today and she is still ok with Emily's progress. She is at 35% O2 and still on bubbles. They upped her feeds to 8.5mL continuos bc she had lost about an oz over two days. The big news came when she said she wants to transport Emily to a less intensive nursery closer to home. On the one hand I'm excited but on the other a bit nervous. The transfer is two weeks away so I have time but yikes!

I'm sure the thought of transfer is intimidating, but they wouldn't do it unless they thought she was ready.  A good step towards HOME!!  Keep it up, Emily!

That's promising news about her transfer...My DD was just transferred today to a higher care facility so I understand your stress. Sending t & p's your way.

Can you go tour the new facility? That helped me a lot when we moved to a lower-level nursery (albeit in the same hospital but with a whole new team).

DH and I are planning on touring the new nursery this weekend. We are going to miss the nurses that we have gotten to know but at least Em will be closer to us. And y'all are right, a lower care nursery is one step closer to home. Right now, DH and I find it hard to believe she will home by 4th of July. We are thinking more like the end of July, that is closer to her due date.
