Contact Paper...

any one use this stuff, ever?  What do you use it for?? I'm sure there are 100s of uses for it, I just don't have any idea what they are! :)

Re: Contact Paper...

  • We always had to cover our books with it in school. ?Perhaps line drawers?

  • i use(d) it a lot. i use the clear to cover my paperback books (yes, i'm crazy like that). i've used it in my cupboards (now i use that stuff that cushions). i use it in my dresser drawers b/c i don't like the feel of the drawers. when i was in college, i wallpapered the dorm walls with it b/c you can take it off "easily" and i covered the little dorm fridge.  you can use it for a matte for a picture.

  • I use it to laminate the dust covers of my cookbooks.
  • I just used it on my lame counter top that is in the basement bath- never gets used so I thought what the heck. Then I realized that it's super easy to peel off.  It doesn't look bad- just not like real marble, but it does cover up the fugly green laminate top :)  I also wondered how it would look to cover up the tile back splash- not too bad!  If you're looking for a cheap/temporary fix to something... contact paper could be a choice I guess.  How ef is it, probably not very.
