Do you open your windows for "fresh air" at home?

We never open our windows in our bedrooms. The only window that is ever opened is the sliding door wall. We have air conditioning in the summer and ceiling fans in the winter. We NEVER open a window in the winter (unless we are having a party and it's stuffy inside).

What do you do?

Re: Do you open your windows for "fresh air" at home?

  • they're open a lot in the spring/fall.  It's not hot enough for AC.  I open them every once in awhile during the winter when I'm cleaning if it seems to be getting a little stale in the house.  I love fresh air in my house, especially when my sheets smell of fresh air.  YUM!
  • yup! ?In the spring or fall our windows are open all of the time. ?I love having my windows open and letting the fresh air in! ?IN the dead of summer or in the middle of winter though we are all closed up with the air or heat on. ?It is so much cheaper to just have the windows open too!!

  • Yes. Every window in the house is usually open on days that are cooler. Our other home (100 yrs old) had all but 1 window painted shut so we could never open windows.. Our new house is FULL of windows and I love the fresh air..we also live in the middle of no where so I am not scared of someone sneaking in......unless they want Ginger the 100+ lbs Rottweiler running after them!
  • I open windows if it is stuffy in a room.  The bathroom window is open most of the time..even in the window it is cracked.  My DH does not like to use the bathroom fan (says it puts mold in the attic...how he knows this I haven't a clue).  We open the doorwall when we cook (boiling) because it steams up the kitchen.  We have air conditional as well but open windows instead if there is a breeze.  I do not open my bedroom window at night if it is cold outside though.
  • I keep our windows open most of the year.  In fact, we have no control over our heat and our building keeps it so high that even with my radiator turned off I need the windows open most of the winter.

  • All the time!
There is nothing better than the combo of fresh air and Yankee Candles burning!

It's usually an indicator that it's spring/fall --- which are my two fave times of year!  :)

  • I would love to but we get these tiny little gnats that can fit through the screen.  Hate them!

  • Our windows are almost open except when it's winter or really unbearably hot. I hate having all the windows closed.
  • I open all the windows upstairs but none of them downstairs.
  • Any time the windows can be open, they are Obviously whrn it is freezing or grossly hot out we have the heat or AC on, but I love having a fresh breeze. They are all open as we speak.

We also keep our bedroom windows open at night all winter - I am a freak about a crisp, cold bedroom when I sleep. I love it.

  • We open them as much as possible... especially on the wknds. If it's 75ish-85ish outside, they're open!
