I felt so bad for the girl last night. The boyfriend was actually a good guy and the girl's mom was awful. The demanding rent, telling her daughter to go back to bed when her water broke, suggesting they diet together...these kids were actually trying to do the right thing and the mom is making it impossible. It seemed she wanted to punish her daughter.
. I was fuming the whole episode (not unusual, I'm usually fuming about the guy, but this was way worse IMO).
Re: So who's watching 16 & pregnant this season? ETA: spoiler
that b*tch made me so mad. I wanted to see if that girl wanted to come live with us. FFS, she was basically taking food and diapers from the baby. It's like she saw her daughter being pregnant as a meal ticket for herself.
Look at it this way - before daughter gets pregnant, mom is supporting daughter & paying all the bills. Daughter gets pregnant, lets boyfriend move in, and boyfriend is now supporting daughter (that's what they said at least during the rent discussion). So there's a money positive for the mother. One more person living in the house - slight negative as far as bills (water usage, etc.). Baby is born, boyfriend is supporting him, too. Then mother asks for $300 in rent. She's MAKING MONEY and is BETTER OFF than she was before her daughter got pregnant. It's so f*cked up, I can barely wrap my head around it.
And the ED stuff was just disgusting. Asking your daughter, who clearly has eating issues, to help you diet? OMFG.
That mother was seriously horrendous. I think that was the most depressing episode of 16&PG that I've seen. Even Jeff was horrified.
eclaires, I said the same thing--I wanted to just move them here with me. Here was a young couple/parents that actually seemed to have it together a little...and the mom wanted to basically destroy it.
AND, I'm pm'ing your super sleuthing self
ITA with everyone...that girl's mom was HORRIBLE!! Maybe she was jealous because her daughter had such a loving and supportive boyfriend?
I watched the after show online and was sad to find out that she broke up with her boyfriend...they still get along though so things are good for the baby. But she said she broke up with him because she wasn't in love with him like she was before the baby. I just wish someone could have told her that this happens in every relationship after a baby comes and you just have to work a little harder to fall back in love...instead she dumped a really great guy
I think this was one of the most heartbreaking. That mom/grandma was cold.
Liam is 5!
