Stay at Home Moms

The countdown begins

I officially gave notice today that I won't be coming back once LO arrives.  I'm planning to work until I deliver (2 more months), but wanted to give them time to find a replacement since it typically takes at least that long to hire someone around here.

I feel like a weight is off my shoulders, for being able to tell them.  I realize, I could get let go sooner (if they find someone or decide I'm just not needed).  But my manager seemed grateful for the advance notice.  I'm part-time, so staying through maternity leave wouldn't have made a difference (no benefits), and this way I can potentially train the new person.

Now I have to mentally prepare to SAH with a preschooler and infant!

Re: The countdown begins

  • Congrats! I gave my notice a few weeks ago, and today is my first day not working. I am still trying to mentally prepare for when the baby comes and I have a newborn and a 2-year-old, but I don't think I will really be truly prepared. Good luck!

  • Congratulations!  I did the same thing when I was still pregnant with DD so I know what you mean with the huge weight off.  Good Luck!
