Parenting after a Loss

Anyone having trouble sleeping?

I know this is so crazy and no one is probably going through this but I thought id ask.

For about a week now I have been having a hard time falling asleep even if I am really tired, well DH has helped with that, he will rub my neck or hands until I fall asleep :-)

But now for the last 3 or 4 nights I have been waking up around 2am and cant go back to sleep until 4am! I just lay there with my eyes closed trying to go back to sleep. I end up putting the tv on or going on my phone and that will get me tired again and I fall back asleep...but what the heck??

I hate taking sleep meds but I need sleep!

Anyone else go through this? Is it a phase?

Re: Anyone having trouble sleeping?

  • I'm a habitual insomniac so I'm probably the wrong person to ask. I go through phases where I sleep good for a week or two, than can't sleep at all for a couple months. When I got pregnant with DD that was my first symptom, my insomnia gets really bad in pregnancy to the point that I can only sleep during the day, my clock is completely a55 backwards.

  • I have no advice but I know your pain. I have had insomnia for years. Even as a teenager I had trouble going or staying asleep. I usually watch TV. My problem is I can't turn my brain off. I just lay there and think of everything that needs to done or things that happened.

My guess is your problem is stress related. I know you have a lot going on in your life. I hope things calm down and you can get some sleep. Big hugs.

  • I used to take Ambien but haven't since I had L.  I miss it so much!!!!

I hope you can get some sleep soon!
