Lotion & CDs ?

I give DD a minute or 2 at each diaper change so her bum can dry. Today I gave her a good 20 on her mat wiggling around in the buff and noticed some of her skin on her bum was a bit dry and scaly. Can I use baby lotion on her or will it do the same thing as diaper creams?

I use lotion on DS. I put it on him right after he gets out of the shower and then let him run around naked for a while until it has soaked in. Then I put a CD on him and get him dressed. Dh didn't give him naked time once - just slathered the lotion on and it did cause repelling on that individual diaper. I've never had a problem with it as long as I let him air out.
