We CD but DS has a yeast rash so we are going to use disposables while it clears up. He is about 11 lbs and 23-24 inches. Any idea if one brand fits a long, skinny baby better than others? What about size? I know nothing about this would prefer not to waste money on diapers that won't fit.
Thanks!

My baby is about the same weight right now. He is wearing size 1 Luv's diapers. I have been very happy with them. I had some leaks with the more expensive brands.

I prefer target brand actually. Newborn only goes up to 10 pounds, so i cant help you on a size, but Pampers sticks to his bum, and luv's are too plasticy and make his bum red. Every baby is different though.
Pampers is the only brand I can use with LO, he leaks out of everything else. He's 9ish lbs and wearing size 1's. We haven't had any rashes at all either.

Pampers are the only diapers DS doesn't leak out of. He wore huggies home from the hospital and had poop running down his leg when we got home 20 minutes later.
Diapers are so funny... they just fit each baby so differently. Pampers were horrible on DS, who is also long and skinny. He was constantly leaking. Huggies Little Snugglers, on the other hand, fit him great. He's not once ::knock on wood:: leaked out of one, poop or pee. I would maybe get a small pack of a couple different kinds honestly. Oh yeah, we tried Target and they're ok. I hate the actual diaper- very papery, bulky, and the tabs suck, but in the short time we tried them they didn't leak.
I've only had one poop explosion with Earth's Best, and that's honestly my fault because I forgot to check the diaper before I fed him again so he had a double load and it oozed out a little. I'd recommend them for slender and long babies.
I would recommend Pamper Swaddlers Sensitive in Size 1. We've only had one minor blow out in seven weeks.
We've never had one rash and DD has sensitive skin. I would also HIGHLY recommend Triple Paste to clear up just about any diaper rash. We use it as her daily ointment instead of A+D or Butt Paste, etc. It's the best stuff.
As PP said, diapers are funny. I've only had blowouts from Pampers. Huggies and Up and Up work just fine. I'd go Up and Up if I were you. You are using them for a short time and they are cheaper. For sure do a size one.
no matter what diaper you use, make sure you pull the entire 'ruffle' that's around the legs out, this will help prevent blowouts/leaks. At least from what i've seen.

Thanks, this is what we decided. We used Huggies right when he came home from the hospital and he leaked every. single. time. Hopefully these work.
As for the cream, he's on a prescription for a yeast rash - yuck!
Thanks for all the thoughts ladies. I appreciate it.

Re: Disposable diaper recommendations?

Pamper's size one should work.

This! We had such problems with Pampers but once we moved up a size in Huggies, they were perfect.
