I'm liking the name Charles, but I have a possible dilemma. DH and I are obsessed with the name Giada. We are about 90% likely "one and done", but you never know...
IF we name this boy Charles, and IF we have another, and IF it's a girl, do Charles and Giada work together?
I keep hearing Charles & Diana when I say them together. DH thinks I'm crazy. Would you have made the association?
Am I worrying about too many if's here?
Regardless of my possible Royal connundrum, do they even work as a sibset? I know they're not a lovely or expected set, but do they totally clash?
Re: Charles & possible future sister
Not sure why you would hear "Diana" with "Giada" given that the two names don't even have the same number of syllables. Giada is pronounce "Jah-da".
And even if you DO insist on pronouncing it the bastardized Americanized way, it would be GEE-ah-dah, which doesn't even have the same VOWEL sounds as DIE-ANN-AH, let alone the same consonants.
PS: Sibsets are overrated. They aren't outfits, they are human beings. Name your children what you want to name them. I know a family where the boys were named by the father and the girls by the mother, resulting in boys with very common names (think Michael, John) and girls with very flowery fanciful ones. They are all just fine.
You're overthinking it and getting way ahead of yourself. Even if you do have a second child and it's a girl, there's a good chance you'll be over your Giada fascination by then.
I am an overthinker too, so I can understand that you are already thinking about all of these what-ifs for future sibs, BUT, you are way overthinking this Diana/Giada thing. I don't think of it at all when I hear Charles and Giada.
I LOVE Charles for a little boy. Giada is pretty, and who knows what you will like if and when you have a little girl.
Good luck
