Re: Pregnant (& TTC) After Preemie Check-in!

  • Congrats, lemen!!!!!!!!

Update: I have news this week! We picked out DD2's name! We've decided on Beatrice Noelle. Beatrice = bringer of joy and Noelle = born on Christmas day, and I think those names are fitting (she was conceived on Christmas, and we've been through a lot w/IF, DD1's prematurity, and our m/c over the summer, so this healthy pregnancy has brought lots of joy). We're going to call her Bea for short. I know the name Beatrice isn't for everyone, but neither is Eleanor, and DH and I both love it. I have a feeling once people see our little Bea, the name will grow on them (which is what people have said about Ellie's name, too).

I've also been getting TONS done on DD's big girl room. She's been asking to take naps in there lately, so I'm really feeling the push to finish it out so she can nap in there. I need to clean out the closet and the desk, then pack up the desk and computer and then I can start moving DD's stuff in. I still need to buy a dresser and a video monitor, but we already have the bed set up and the rest is just accessories.

QOTD: Our milestones were 6 weeks (heartbeat), 13 weeks (2nd tri), 24 weeks (viability), 29 weeks (better chance at "normal" development), 34 weeks (more pregnant than I was with DD1), 37 weeks (full term). Only one more week until I hit 24 weeks!!!!

    I love the name!!

I'm fantastic :) I had my 28w appt yesterday - my cervix is still long (5cm!!), my placenta moved out of the way, baby girl is doing great and looks just like DD (she's a little small, but she's still growing on track, I might just have small babies) and is estimated to weigh 2lbs 6oz. I'm starting to actually believe I might have a f/t baby. EEEK!!!

My milestones were basically 13 weeks, 24w with no bedrest and 30w. Only 10 more days until I'm more pregnant than I've ever been. I think once I hit 30w then I'll really believe this is happening :)

  • Shannon- I love the name!

We still have to pick out a name for our little guy. My husband hasn't liked anything I came up with so I sent him to work a few days ago with the baby name book. There are several names that he came up with that I really like a lot. Now we have to narrow it down.

I had my appointment on Friday with my high risk doctor. The baby is measuring 4 pounds, 7 ounces already. Everything looks good and I was discharged from the high risk doctor.

My first goal with this pregnancy was making it past 19 weeks, 2 days (when I ruptured with Brandon's twin), then 24 weeks, then making it past 26 weeks, 1 day (when Brandon was born), then 30 weeks, and now 35 weeks. Then 37 weeks!

Conceived twins with IVF January 2008. Lost baby a at 20 1/2 weeks due to premature rupture of membranes and held onto baby b. Baby b (Brandon) born at 26 weeks and 1 day on July 5, 2008. Wesley born full term on June 29, 2011. My blog http://karenandstu.blogspot.com Lilypie Premature Baby tickers Lilypie Pregnancy tickers image
  • Awww, I'm glad you guys all like the name! I did a poll on SAIF and 70% preferred Olivia to Beatrice, but I guess that doesn't mean they don't like the name, just that they prefer Olivia. I love our little Bea...makes it so much real having a name for her :) I can't wait to meet her (IN SEPTEMBER!)!

  • Congrats on picking a name Shannon!

We are nowhere near picking out a name for this little girl.  DH just doesn't see the hurry.  I had an appt yesterday and everything looks great.  Still getting my weekly p17 shots, but otherwise am on a "normal" pg schedule.  I asked about The Plan, and was pretty much told unless something changes, I will remain on a regular schedule.  No more cervical checks, ffn's, nst's, or anything like that for now.  Oh, but I do have to get my thyroid checked every so often, but that's not preemie related.

I've been going to the OB to get my shots every week, but we'll be at the beach in 2 weeks so DH will have to do it.  He is afraid of needles and usually passes out or gets lightheaded when he gives blood, so this might be interesting :)

And we got started on the nursery last weekend!  It's all painted and the furniture is all in there.  So really not too much else to do other than decorate and start filling up her closet.  DS was already in a big boy bed so no real changes to his room.  But he does want a firetruck room so at some point before the baby comes we'll do that.

Milestones:  Well, I never really thought about that.  I think my milestones up to this point have been the normal ones.  13 weeks to get into the 2nd tri, and then 20 weeks.  I'll be glad to get past 24 I'm sure, and then of course 32 since that's when DS was born.  After that 35-36 since that will likely mean no NICU time.
