SSRI's and BF

Have any 2nd+ time mom BF while on an SSRI or are any FTMs planning on it? I made the (difficult) decision to stay on my SSRI during pregnancy because I have pretty severe panic disorder. I still worry about how this could affect the baby even though I know the risk of routine panic attacks would have been worse. However, I have always planned on BF and now the issue of BF while on my SSRI is something I am thinking about a lot. I spoke with my OB and will be speaking with my pediatrician and also my psychiatrist, but I was curious if anyone here has had any experience with this.

I was on prozac for much of my last pregnancy and also postpartum while I was pumping breast milk for my son in the NICU. He was totally fine, but I noticed that after he was born the prozac didn't work as well, so I would keep an eye on that and maybe plan on switching. There are other drugs that are safer during BF. I also suffered from some pretty severe panic attacks, and I felt like having a support system was really important too. Just in case the meds don't work, I recommend having someone you can call on if you have an attack to come and help with baby and help you ride it out.
