I'm new to this whole movement and was looking for a new kitchen cleaner at Target today. They have seventh generation products, but I also saw that clorox has a new green line-- is it for real or is seventh gen better?
The article (Nov 08 Shopsmart) says that there is no government regulation on what it means to be "green" so they can only go by company claims. The company claims that it's made mostly with plant and mineral based cleaners (like lemon oil). The reports says that the Green Works Natural Bathroom Cleaner was the best green cleaner and out cleaned many traditional products. They said it was good for daily wipedowns and left no streaks. It worked on rust stains. The bummer was that it wasn't as good cleaning built-up mildew, but it's good at stopping slime before it creeps in if you use it more often.
As for Seventh Generation, they don't have any reviews for the bathroom cleaner, but really didn't like the Seventh Generation Natural Glass & Surface Cleaner Spray. They said water cleaned as well as this product. There is a recipe to make your own glass cleaner with ammonia, rubbing alcohol, and dishwashing liquid.
Re: How "green" is clorox greenworks?
I'd skip the labels and go this route:

The homemade stuff really works!
IMO making your own is better for the enviornment and cheaper. It also is very easy. Here is my blog entry on it:

More Green For Less Green
