So, I gave Sam a bath tonite and nursed him afterwards. How does everyone else do this? He crashed during nursing and didnt even "finish". Im a little worried I will be getting up with him shortly to finish his meal.
no tips. I'm trying to figure out a night routine. ds sleeps all day still so it'll a little hard to show him this is a different thing and he's supposed to sleep longer after this meal. I dunno.
I guess you just keep doing it until once day it clicks with them.

I usually give a bath, get him in PJs, then nurse him and he falls asleep. Then I swaddle him, which wakes him up some, and nurse him again where he gets some more milk. Whether I give a bath or not, though, he falls asleep while nursing around 7pm.
We do nap, book and cuddle if he isn't hungry right away, and then nurse to sleep. In my experience he stays asleep longer if he nurses to sleep than he does if I have to rock him to sleep because he isn't that hungry.
If the hunger were stronger than the need to sleep, he would have nursed longer, so I would say he did "finish". Good luck, I hope he stays asleep!

My DD only slept through the night when she got a bath. We bathe her every night and if she gets a bottle afterward she will crash in the middle of the feeding. I swaddle and put her to bed. She does well. If the bottle comes before the bath, she will finish it. We go with the flow and do it both ways. I wouldn't worry tonight and see what happens. He will let you know which way he prefers it.
