Since we're talking nursing wear

What are the current favorite nursing tanks?  I had a few Target ones last time and they were fine, but not really long enough or very high quality.  I'd like to splurge for something better this time since I know they will get a TON of use.

Well, I have limited experience with nursing wear but I can tell you to stay away from Motherhood t-shirts.  Those were the first ones I donated once I was done pumping.  :)

  • the first ones i got from target over a year ago were on the shorter side, but the ones i've gotten recently from there are alot longer and i love them (i only have 2 though).

  • You know what I saw that was interesting, and I wish I'd looked closer...  a tank type thing that could snap on any nursing bra, basically making it a nursing tank, except one that has better support.  I wish I had paid more attention...

  • I loved my Bravado one.  I hated that the glamour mom ones are full sling.  My boobs weren't shaped right for the wholes in the full sling.

All this!  I have the Bravado in like 5 colors and live in them all summer.  But I did recently try a lace-trimmed one from Target.  It fits decently, but after one wash the lace was frayed (no dryer, front loader).  I call that not worth the money.  The Bravado is twice as much and worth every penny.  If you don't put them in the dryer, they last a long time before fading.

  • Bravado tanks - by far and away the best. More supportive, look nicer, have a longer tank part, and hold up well through hard use.

The Target ones are good for the first few days/weeks with engorgement and not leaving the house a lot. After that I only wore them to sleep/around the house.

The other big brand...which I am totally blocking on the name of...runs small. I'm petite (30F nursing) and followed their chart to buy one and it was TIGHT all the way down. Like I never actually wore it tight - sadly I had washed it before trying it on.  So if you want to try those, try them on in the store!

I have some "Glamourmom for Motherhood" tanks that I got when I was nursing S.  I don't know if Motherhood still carries them, but they held up pretty well - I wear them now for layering and to sleep in.

I also have two Bravado tanks which I LOVE.  They are comfy, supportive, and they look good.  I may get another 1 or 2 because I think they will really be my go-to top for hot summer days.

The Target tanks never fit me.  I was between sizes.  :(

  • Sounds like Bravado is the winner, thanks ladies!  And good to know that Target tanks have improved so maybe I'll pick up 1 or 2 for sleeping in as well.
