I got called for jury duty June 14th! I'm hoping they see I am big, pregnant, and uncomfortable and let me leave. I can't imagine them picking an almost 8 month pregnant woman to be a juror, lol.
I find that the general response in a public building to big 'n pregnant is panic. I was allowed to vote early in the 2008 presidential election because of my due date. When I waddled into the polling station, the poll workers literally cleared the way for me and whipped me through there. They begged me not to go into labor as I voted!
I found it bizarre and ridiculous, as though I were a ticking time bomb stapled to an incontinent German shepherd. I wasn't THAT big, was I? And was I going to cop a squat and just huck him out right there? DH and I still laugh about it.
So yep - I think you can count on being released from duty when they see you coming

LMAO. I almost spewed my gatorade on the keyboard I laughed so hard when I read that.
You can always call the jury line/coordinator and advise them that you are pregnant (and close to your due date)- they may have you come in or may let you postpone it (but then you run the risk of getting called when you have a newborn at home).

DH has been called for jury duty the week I am due... we are just going to follow the hardship directions if I go into labor before his jury date. Good luck
I'm confused, why can't you just mail back your request for exemption? My husband was called in for jury duty twice, and myself once, but we were both military and living 1,500 miles away. With the notice was a request for exemption letter that we just filled out and mailed back, and of course, they accepted "Military and 1,500 miles out of state," as a good enough reason.
I got jury duty too, but my doctor signed me out of it. They already had a form letter set up and just filled in my name and information. You should definitely ask your doctor about getting signed out of it.
