A former colleague of mine is getting married at the end of the month. I'm in touch with her generally, but was not expecting to be invited to the wedding and I have not been (and I am fine with that).
Yesterday I got an evite to a wedding-related party they are having the weekend of the wedding. That seemed odd to me...I always thought that for events you are doing that are associated with the wedding (especially if those events are the same weekend as the wedding itself), you should only invite people who are invited to the wedding ceremony, unless it's clear that you are having a very small wedding ceremony (with just immediate family for example) and then organizing something separate for a larger group of people. That doesn't seem to be the case in this situation--in fact, many of the responses to the evite were clearly from people planning to attend the wedding.
Am I wrong in thinking this is a little odd? I don't really care either way, but it's a slow afternoon...and I am curiouis what others think...
