Was it you that was recently talking about whipped vodka?
I made a vodka run a few minutes ago (you know, the best kind of lunch hour possible-ha!) and saw that my store now carries Pinnacle Whipped Vodka! I've never seen it there before and, well, I go often.
I almost bought a bottle but wanted to research some recipes first. But I can always go back
I'm thrilled The ABC Store is finally selling it, though...liquor laws in Alabama are kind of hardcore and it can be tough to find good stuff!

Re: *deputieswife*--whipped vodka?
Yes, yes that was me.
OMG - its delish.
My old roommate gave me the recipe of mixing doing something similar to apple pie shots....a shot of vodka, mix with whip cream and chocolate syrup - you put them all in your mouth and shake it up -- apple pie shots are similar! (used to do them all the time in college).
I have 2 books of recipes -- I will email them to you.
Best regular vodka : Belluga, Russian Standard, and Hammer and Sickle.

Got the email! Thanks!
I guess I'll definitely be heading back to the store soon...
I know our store doesn't carry Belluga or Russian Standard..those are two of my favorites. The liquor stores in AL are all controlled by the state so the brands are really limited. I'll have to look into the other two..never heard of them!

Hammer & Sickle is one kind, I havent tried it yet but DH had it at a Russian restaurant here in DC
MIL brought some belluga for us and DH ordered some from the liquor store he does PT at -- they special ordered it for him. We consume a lot of vodka!!

I consume a lot of vodka, too. DH is more of a beer drinker but will have vodka sometimes and wine with meals.
I was down to only 2 bottles of vodka in the house and freaked out (lol) hence the run. I now have three bottles sitting in my car just waiting to get home!
I wish Alabama liquor laws weren't so ridic. And alcohol is EXPENSIVE here!

DH being Russian and now that BIL lives with us - shots can be a standard when they dont have to work....I was telling DH's squad on Sunday about how we do shots at dinner -- sometimes 10 during one sitting -- the boys have more -- they were like, OMG, how are you not wasted, I said you're eating -- a typical Russian dinner is like 3 to 4 hours long - a lot of fun too!
I think we have about 6 or 7 and a few in the freezer! OOPS.
It is so expensive and I imagine more so in the south...damn...too bad its all breakable, I'd ship some down there!

I want to come to a dinner like that!! Wow!
Yeah, down here, in the heart of the Bible Belt, drinking is still viewed as "bad" so all liquor stores are run by the state and called "ABC Package Stores". So on the sign it either just says ABC or Package Store..never "liquor". And they have horribly crappy hours..like most close at 5:00 or 6:00. I mean..REALLY?
That's the one thing I miss about MN...great liquor stores (haha--but, in MN, you can't buy wine in a grocery store so I guess it evens out) and no sales tax!

in VA it was like that.
here in MD you cant buy anything in grocery stores.
NY you can -- i went with my mom to target and there was beer in the coolers. i was shocked to see it -- i had forgotten!
YES - thats what our holiday dinners are like or remembrance dinners or celebration dinners. Even DH's grandma does shots! Its fabulous!
