July 2011 Moms

diary of a sleep deprived bump: May 16th, 2011.

LAST NIGHT:

-Never got to sleep.  Pulled an unwelcome all-nighter.

TODAY:

6:30:  Made breakfast for hardworking coastie DH.

8:30:  Cleaned house for landlord to come over to inspect fallen ceiling in bathroom due to upstairs neighbor's failed plumbing.

9:30:  Made exciting video of baby belly and crib for family, who live far away.

10:30:  Wrote sad, angry four-page letter to said family, who are all feuding.

10:45:  Sent video.  Saved angry-letter as a draft to laugh at when I'm sane again.

11:30:  Screened phone calls from people I don't want to talk to (re: everyone).

12:00:  Talked to financial aid center at hospital.  They will send me more forms to file and forget about until the next time I want to apply for a credit card and realize that I cannot, for I have terrible credit!

1:00:  Scheduled time of appointment for preregistration and tour of birthing center.

1:05:  DH and I lost in the depths of Hospital.

1:15:  DH and I find birthing center.  FORMS after FORMS after FORMS.

2:30:  Appointment at OB's office- we made it!

3:00:  Nurse appears and takes us back to wait for OB.

3:10:  I officially weigh more than DH!  FINALLY we can wrestle in the same weight-class!  A dream come true for me!

3:15:  PEE IN A CUP!  (And on hand.  And on toilet seat.  So... SOME pee in a cup!)

3:16:  Walk of pee-shame through reception with cup, avoiding running children and full-term bumps.

3:45:  OB shows up and informs us that my GD screening 3 WEEKS AGO was one point too high.  Apparently no news is still bad news.  Not good news.  Who knew?

3:46:  OB leaves to take a personal call.

3:47:  Sobbing into the arms of DH.

4:00:  OB returns.  I begin to ask pregnancy-related questions-

4:02:  OB answers one and only one question while shooing us out the door.

4:03:  Make appointment to have terrible nasty four-hour extended GD test in two days.

4:05:  Cry more in the car.

4:10:  KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN!!!

4:15:  Tell DH that I think the prisoners of war on NPR "deserve it."  Tell the porch stairs they are stupid.  Tell the bathroom ceiling that I hate it.

4:16:  Curl up with DH in bed.

4:17:  SLEEEEEEPPP.

I tell our front porch stairs they are stupid almost every day! LO is laying on my Sciatic nerve and it's so painful to walk, let alone climb stairs (thank God for our ranch style house) but those first 3 steps onto our porch HURT so bad Crying
