I had my second interview tonight. Provider wise- I want #1, which I don't think I will get because she has someone wanting the infant spot in January.#2 basically offered the spot and I can have it!
#2 has a much larger play area, and has her 2 kids there (3 * 8months) but I just felt a better connection with #1.
Otherwise they are almost the same. Now I have to decide if I will interview more, wait until #1 decides or just take #2.
I am really hoping to move next year depending on the market- so My child might not even be at the daycare for 1yr.
So many choices......I just wish I could stay at home!
Re: It's hard choosing daycare!
I have to admit, as an Asst. Director of Preschool & Child Care, I am a little surprised by the centers' approach that they play a part in choosing you! Maybe it's a regional thing or maybe because we're affilliated with a church?? I just can't imagine the tables being turned and us having a say in who we "take". Everyone has equal opportunty to be on our waiting list an it goes directly in order, with very few exceptions.
I don't know. I just feel sad that you and your husband have to "sell yourselves" to the centers. Those centers should be busting their tails to make you happy, comfortable and "at home".
I don't mean to sound at all negative about them-- like I said, this could be completely regional, so I don't mean to put them down. I guess I'm just surprised based on how I know it can be done so everyone is treated fairly.
I hope you get your absolute top choice! And I hope everyone is beyond happy:)
Well these are in-home day cares. So the interviews are just to get a feel for each other and see how they are. I may look at a center near work- but I really don't want to have my baby ride 30min with me to work even though it would cut down on the time.
Around here people are not to fond of Daycare centers- I would but they are much more expensive.
