PSA: no more car seat installations in Loudoun Co. Fire Depts

as of June 1st, it's too $$ for them to keep getting the licenses. I'm bummed, I've been using them for over 2.5yrs and just had DS' convertible seat installed, I was hoping to go back there when we are ready to forward-face. Does Fairfax still do it?

Re: PSA: no more car seat installations in Loudoun Co. Fire Depts

  • The Alexandria Cares program had their funding cut as well (the officer who did them out in the Target parking lot @ potomac yards).  I think Fairfax still does it.
  • Fairfax does them at the police department, as does Loudoun. I was never able to get ahold of the PD in Leesburg....I played phone tag with the guy trying to get an appointment. He did have an available appointment time for me on a Friday, but I had other things going on that day.

I ended up going to the Chantilly PD on Stonecroft blvd. The inspections were from 5-8 on a Thursday night, drive-up, first come, first served and they did a great job. I know they have them frequently, possibly weekly. We waited about an hour and were about 7th back in line, but if you get in line early, or go toward the end, you might not have to wait as long (we got there around 6). The number I called is 703-814-7000, and they can tell you when the next one is.
