I'm assuming you mean the kind that are individually wrapped, bought from the store. In my experience, the only thing that happens to them is they get extra sticky and hard to get out of the wrapper. I'd eat it. lol
Typically expiration dates just mean the store can't sell it past that date. If it's still in the wrapper than it's usually safe. Might just have a funky taste to it.
Unless it's a dairy product than you don't want to go much past the exp date.
