Find out how many babies were born lst year that have my DD's name? I know it can be done on the SSA site, but I can't find it!

if it's not in the top 1000, you can

1. download the entire file of all names given to more than 5 babies [they don't list those given to fewer than that]

OR

2. the easy way is to check nancy's baby names. she still has the 2009 lists up right now but you might check back, i'm sure she will post 2010 soon.

When you look at the options for looking at the list, there should be an option that says something like "can include # of births/ percentage of births." Not sure if you can do it for a specific name though, without using the whole list.

Go to https://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/, and scroll down to the bottom right hand side of the page.  You simply type in the name and hit "go."  It'll tell you how many people had that name each year for the past 10 years (or longer if you want).

ETA:  never mind.  That's the ranking.  I'm an idiot.
