If you have a toddler and multiples, what's your bedtime routine like? I always wish that we had something similar to DS', but I know that's not possible right now (we're living with my mom until we move into our house, which will be soon! and we have all 3 in one room..Ahh!) Here's ours:
6pm-dinner
7-DS bath and ready for bed, girls cereal if they haven't eaten a bottle too close to that time and start their bottles.
7:30 DS down (still falling asleep until about 7:45-8), girls play
8 or 7:45 (depending on their last nap-we're trying to eliminate the last one to get them down around 7:30ish) finish their bottle and sleep.
Usually we are trying to get a bath in for the girls during the daytime when DS takes his long nap and they wake up from theirs or sometimes we can squeeze it in around 7 after cereal.
I just wish it was consistent. I know it works right now, but I just feel bad that we don't bathe the girls every night and they don't always "know what's coming next" like DS did at this age.
Any thoughts? Any different schedules that work for you? (I just want a little change, but don't know exactly how to fit everything in until we have their own room). Also, we plan to eat a little earlier around 5:30 when we're moved out in another month, so that will change things also.
Thanks in advance:)
Re: Toddler and Multiples- what's your bedtime routine?
Hudson and Landry get their baths in the morning while Emerson is at school.
Emerson gets her bath at 4:30 and dinner at 5:00.
The babies get their last bottle between 5:30 and 6:00. Everyone is in bed between 6:30-7:00.
Emerson has been afforded the luxury of having a 30 minute Nick Jr. show in bed before she falls asleep. We read book(s) and brush teeth prior to her getting in the bed and watching her show of choice.
My H gets home at 7ish so, I do it on my own and we just roll with it. : )
5:00: solid meal for twins
5:30 - dinner for older DD
6:15 - change twins into jammies, head upstairs to feed them (we take the twins and older DD upstairs and sit in the den and watch tv while we feed them)
6:30 - put twins to bed
6:30-7pm- hang out with older DD, read, play games, watch some tv.
7pm- older DD goes to bed.
For awhile we were putting older DD to bed first, but then found it worked better if we put the twins down first and then we got some alone time with older DD. Plus the twins go to sleep much better if we put them to bed by 6:45pm.
If we give them a bath, I do the baths before DH gets home at 6:15 and then he gives older DD a bath once the twins are in bed.
Cut the Crap - Weight loss journey of a Few Fat Chicks
5:30 - dinner for everyone
6:30 +/- 1/2 hour depending on moods - bath for twins
7:00 - bottle & bed for twins
7:30 - bath for DD1
8:00 - bed for DD1
If I'm home alone with all 3, DD1 watches a show or plays by herself while I bathe/feed/put the twins down. If DH is home, one of us bathes while the other plays with DD. We both put a twin to sleep, then play with DD until her bathtime.
