Storage for CDs

I am having a hard time choosing a storage system for my CDs.  They wont fit in my dresser so I have to get something that can sit beside the dresser/changing table.  I dont know how much room I am going to need and what the best set up is.  Suggestions?  For the NB stage we are planning on using prefolds, fitteds and covers.  I would also like to be able to store my cloth wipes in there and any other diaper changing items (umm what are those other items?).

Also, if you keep your diapers in the nursery, do you have something in your living area also or do you do all of your changes in the nursery?  I was thinking of just having a basket downstairs with a few diapes, an extra cover and some wipes.  I guess I will need a pail for the downstairs as well.

I am a terrible decision maker.

Re: Storage for CDs

  • I do 99% of the diaper changes downstairs in the family room, so I have a whicker laundry basket that I keep the diaper station stuff in.  9 times out of 10, I don't fold my dipes, I just put them in the basket.  I just moved the pail from the nursery to the family room too.

I have a small basket that I put a couple dipes & supplies in for the nursery.

  • I have a changing pad on top of her dresser, and a canvas storage bin from Target beside that.  I have a couple of non-CD related items in the bin, but for the most part it's CD stuff.  I have a reused wet wipes container that I store my cloth wipes in, and then piles of CDs in the bin too.  It works well for me, but it definitely is getting more cramped with each new CD I buy!  We do all diaper changes in the nursery, but it is on the same floor as the living room.

  • I do all my changing downstairs too. We really don't change him at night anymore but when we did we would keep as many as we needed for the night upstairs and stock it up when we would take DS up to bed.

Oh and our diapers are in a good size basket we got from a second hand store..its cute and it keeps everything together. And even with our DS running around he pretty much leaves them be.

  • We do all DS changes upstairs in his nursery, even though we're downstairs.  I guess I don't mind running up and down stairs!  We have a changing pad on top of his dresser, and keep the diapers in the top drawer.  I have a little box/bin on top of the dresser with some other things (rash cream, lotion, etc) and a box of wipes.

I've also seen people mount a shelf or two on the wall behind the dresser to store things on, and I think that looks nice.

  • I got this cart from Target. I store diapers in the top and use the other shelves for other items...socks, extra blankets, etc. It was really great because the first few months, I kept this in our room and we had plenty of room for all of his clothes, diapers, blankets, sheets, etc. I don't think we went into the nursery for the first two months of his life.
