I have a very small room for a nursery(office now) and I am trying to transition it for the baby. I have room for the long dresser and crib. There is one more space that we can either use for a glider/ottoman or a tall dresser. I am trying to decide on which of the last 2 I should choose. Did you find that you use your glider often? Or is it more to throw clothes on? I want to do the practical thing.
IMO a glider is priceless. There were days at the end of my pregnancy when I slept in it (we bought a La-z-boy), and now 90% of my feedings are done in that chair.
Plus, newborn/baby clothes are small. No way would you need two dressers for a while. Perhaps you can get a glider and sell it after a year and purchase a new dresser.

I have a small nursery as well, and my glider is probably the most important thing in there. We use it all the time - she loves to be rocked to sleep, and it has become our nighttime routine to sit in the glider and listen to her FP seahorse while she has her last bottle before bed.
All kids are different, and there is no way to predict if your LO will like to be rocked or not. For us, I say a nightly thank you to my MIL and FIL, as the glider was their very generous gift. It's been a lifesaver.
If you have to choose one, definitely get the glider. We don't use it a ton early on, mostly because DS is still sleeping in our room...so his nursery in general isn't used much right now, but soon it will be. It's great for late night rocking to sleep and as they get older it's great to use to read bedtime stories.
I use my glider all the time. To nurse, to rock, etc. It's invaluable, in my opinion. Now, the ottoman...not so much. I've used it a few times to prop up my feet, but in reality, it pretty much just sits in the middle of the room and gets in the way.

I use the glider/ottoman for every nighttime feeding as well as for reading books to DS. I love it, and it was really nice right away when we got home from the hospital and my feet were swollen from all the fluids they gave me to be able to sit and rock with my feet up to help.
That is one of my favorite things I have. Although, if you have the space I would choose rocker as opposed to the glider. I spent many a night sleeping in my glider and the rocker would've been a lot more comfortable.

We always use our glider. We have a very small room that was our office as Cortland's nursery so we only got the glider.
