Disney Classic Movies

Does your LO watch any classic Disney movies? Caleb is big into Pixar movies, which seem so much flashier than classics like Bambi or Alice In Wonderland. I wonder if he will enjoy them?

I'm looking at upgrading some of mine from VHS to the BluRay Combo Packs. Amazon has several for $20, which seems like a good deal. Just wonder if its worth upgrading now, or if I should just wait for the next time they're on sale.

LOL. that's my tough decision of the day:) Thoughts?

Re: Disney Classic Movies

  • Maddie has watched Bambi, Snow White, 101 Dalmations, Fox and the Hound, The Land Before Time and The Rescuers Down Under. My mom's minivan has a VHS player, so she loves to watch old VHS movies in her car. So far she seems to like them just as much as contemporary movies!

  • We actually just watched The Land Before Time on my computer through Netflix a couple of days ago! She loved it, and I loved watching it again, it was always one of my faves. I will say though- classic Disney sure doesn't shy away from some violent parental death, geez!

PS- You can do a free month of Netflix if you want to try a few out on your computer to see if he would like them! They have a lot of the more classic movies on there.

  • ds is much more into the pixar movies than the classic disney stuff :-(

like cars and toy story, he sat still for a good 60-70% of the movie (which is amazing for him lol), vs pretty much any old school disney movie that i've tried to watch only holds his attention for maybe 20 min of the whole movie.. if that.

makes me sad lol!  i love the old school movies!  but yeah, they sure are not shy about someone dying in them! have you noticed that?  there's always some kind of horrible violence in the old disney movies. i always end up crying!  how did i not do that when i was little? lol
