Heart murmur semi-update

I posted yesterday that DD's pedi found a soft heart murmur on DD at her 6 month checkup. This was totally new information and no doctor had ever mentioned it before. Needless to say, it did have me a bit concerned. He said yesterday it was very soft and he didn't see the need to refer us out.

Well, he just called and said he was thinking about the way we left things yesterday and he wanted to follow up. I think he knew I was a bit more concerned about the whole thing than I let on. He said he would be more than happy to refer us out to a pediatric cardiologist here so that we can get more info on the murmur. Basically, it will give us a baseline so that we can monitor better if it were ever to change.

At any rate, I think it will make me feel better about the whole thing. I just called and was able to get an appointment for next Tuesday.

  • Great! If nothing else, it will give you peace of mind. I hope that it's just a simple VSD, like Tristan's was. It closed on its own. :hugs:

P.S. You've been scarce lately. Me no likey.

  • Good news...I am sure meeting with a specialist will help put you at ease...from what I have heard, murmurs are pretty common.
