When to send out invites?

Just curious as to how early invites should be sent out.  My MIL & SIL's are having my shower for me on June 18th.  I haven't heard any more about it as we just decided last weekend on the date.  I know this month is busy for everyone here with weddings and graduations, but I am one that wants things done right away if they can be.

Hi I am new to this board (I am always on the August 2011).  My mother is mailing my shower invites tomorrow for June 26th.  We know that June is a very very busy month for people.

They probably should go out sooner rather than later.  I've heard betweebn 4-6 weeks usually good.  With graduations coming up and vacations it might be better to get them out as soon a they can.

No later than 1 month in advance of the shower.  So basically - send them now.  That gives you 2 to 3 weeks for rsvp and 1 week for follow-ups.

I agree with the pp above... June is a very busy month with graduations, weddings, etc so get them out as soon as possible to give people time to plan.

The average time to send out invitation is 4 - 6 weeks.  That being said, my shower invitations are being sent out this week. My shower will be held on June 5th. There was an issue with the venue locations.  June is a very popular month with graduations, weddings, bridal showers, father's day and etc. Many venues were booked far in advance. However, my family did send out Save the Dates about the shower at the end April. This way my guests can at least plan ahead accordingly.
