2nd+ Mamas: Better Late Than Never

Did everyone have a nice Mother's Day?  I didn't flip through previous posts, so it may have already been asked, but I was just curious.  Did you receive any special treatment, any special gifts, or meals?

DH got me some goodies from Bath & Beyond I was out of and DS got me a 10x24 black muslin backdrop with 5 clamps.  I'm super stoked that I'll be able to take some good photos of DS#2 once he arrives.

I had a great mothers day. DS got me a new Guess purse and some clinique under eye cream that I've been wanting- I'm afraid of wrinkles!! lol. Of course DH paid for it all but we let our son give the gift. DH made me my morning decaf latte and got our son ready for our day out at an amusement park. At night we went to my parents for dinner

I have a nasty head cold so I didn't sleep and MIL was here. Not one of my better ones.

Mine was okay.  DH made me breakfast in bed.  I wish he would have given me some time off of Mommy duty - I'd love to be able to sleep in, not do all the bed time routine at night - just once.

It's also bittersweet for me - not having a mom. My Mom passed when I was 34 weeks with DS, and my first mother's day was my first since she had passed.

Thanks! DH got me a prenatal massage which I now have to find time to go enjoy!  I cant wait!  I also was treated to a nice breakfast out with my parents. My mom got me a mug that is a pic of me pregnant in San Fran it says: Pregnant and barefoot in San fran 2011.  It made me laugh!

It was a beautiful day here in our area, so I slept late (8:30 ... wheeee!) and woke up to homemade biscuits and jam.

DH got me an iPad for mother's day which was amazing and so unexpected. I kinda hinted I might want one for my birthday, which is the same week as my EDD. I'm addicted to my iPhone and I thought it would be really handy to have the iPad once the new baby was here (feeding/diaper logs, watching shows while BFing, pictures, skype, email and internet, etc.) He said he didn't want me to have to wait and thought I should/could start enjoying it right away. It's backordered and I'm so excited for it to get here!!!

Got nothing....and then DH left for the whole week the next day. Better than my first one where he left us on mothers day:(

B/F and DD went to Kay jewlers and startted me one of their new charm bracelet things. DD picked out two charms and picked one out for her brother (lo) too, it is beautiful and I can't wait to add to it. We also went to his moms for a cook out since we went to mine the night before

DH thinks holidays are dumb, so he pretty much does nothing for me for them.  We went to the grocery store Saturday night & he told me to pick out a bouquet of flowers, so those were my gift.  I also watched him pick out my card that night.  We did brunch Sunday morning, then picked up steaks to grill out at my parents.  I helped cook dinner & cleaned up, so no relaxing for this lady.  He did say we'd go pick out plants to plant in the yard, but who knows when/if we'll do that.

I've told him 1000 times that he doesn't have to buy me anything big or expensive.  I'd take a handmade card from DD & him cleaning the house or doing the laundry would be a good enough gift for me.  But he doesn't get it.

I had a wonderful day!

DH made breakfast for me and the kids and then got them cleaned up and ready for the day.  They gave me some pretty potted flowers, a lovely card, and a balloon.

My parents stopped by to see the progress my niece made on our nursery over the weekend. 

Dh made lunch for us, fed the kids, and got the little one down for a nap.  He also cleaned the house and did laundry. 

I took the boys for haircuts and Foster cooperated!  It was a Mother's Day miracle.  lol

Then DH made us a lovely dinner - grilled filets and fettucini alfredo with mushrooms and asparagus! 

After that the boys played outside while we planted my flowers.  The DH got them to bed! 

It was a really nice relaxing day.  Of course, I am exhausted just thinking about making it up to DH on Father's day!  LOL

Mine was great.  DH & DS got me an opal necklace, flowers and adorable cards.  Then we were going to brunch at my BIL's country club (he's executive chef) with all the mothers of my family.  Unfortunately, my poor sister who had twins in June last year had a stomach bug and so did her twins.  I feel so badly for her because it was her first mother's day and she had to spend it alone and taking care of 2 babies.  We're going to take her out to dinner to make up for missing out.

I had a great day. DH woke up with DD and I slept in. I made us all pancakes and then he took charge of DD for the day. I did a lot of chores but it was nice to just kind of have some alone time and do things slowly (I watched TV while I folded laundry, for example). We had a casual dinner. He also got me a deep tissue massage for after baby comes. Woot!

I had a stomach virus all day, so I just spent the day trying not to vomit

Eh...mine was ok.  Dh said he was going to make me a special breakfast...but he didn't, which was disappointing.  We did go to the park in the morning, which was fun (usually DH hates going outside for walks and he didn't complain at all).
